How
To use

How
To use

Eucaprol® Cough Syrup has a yellowish color, considerable viscosity, sweet and refreshing taste. Before using, observe the appearance of the product. If it is in its expiration date and you notice any changes in the aspect, consult the pharmacist to see if you can use it. This product should be kept out of the reach of children.

It can be consumed directly with the 10-mL measuring cup (6.0 mg of 1.8-cineole/10 mL measuring cup) or a tablespoon, according to the dosage described below. We recommend shaking the bottle before use.

Dosage:

Adults and pediatric use (above 12 years old): Except at medical discretion, it is recommended to take 10 mL (1 measuring cup), 3 to 4 times a day (equivalent to 6.0 mg of 1.8-cineole per dose, 18.0 or 24.0 mg of cineole/day), with 6-or-8-hour intervals between doses. That is, for 3 dosing cups, the recommended frequency of daily administration is every 8 hours. For 4 dosing cups, the intervals between each intake must be 6 hours.

The total treatment time is variable. For cases of acute respiratory disorders, treatment for 7 days is suggested, and up to two weeks in case of chronic conditions.

Attention
Recommendations

The maximum daily intake recommendation is 7 10-mL measuring cups or 7 tablespoons a day, corresponding to 42.0 mg of 1.8-cineole/day.

The therapeutic dosage, as determined based on ANVISA’s list of simplified registration of herbal medicines (IN no. 5, 12/11/2008), is 14 mg to 42.5 mg of 1.8-cineole/day, which is equivalent to the concentration of 0.23 to 0.71 mg/kg/day, considering an average adult weight of 60.0 kg. Thus, considering that the concentration of 1.8-cineole/mL of syrup is 0.60 mg, a 0.5 mL/kg/day dosage of EUCAPROL® SYRUP is recommended, making it compatible with the dose of 3 measuring cups for adults.

Follow the instructions of use strictly. If you have any questions about this product, seek advice from your pharmacist. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

In case of a missing dose, the patient should use the medication as soon as he remembers and continue the treatment normally.

WARNING: This medication is not generic; therefore, it is not a substitute for another medication with the same ingredients.

Usage
Instructions

This medication is indicated as an antibacterial agent for the upper airways’ treatment.

How
This medication works

The main active constituent of Eucaprol® Cough Syrup is eucalyptol (1.8-cineole) which brings together, in a single herbal medicine, the fluidizing, expectorant and antiseptic properties for upper airways treatment.

Thus, this medication helps eliminate mucus from the bronchi and lungs, thus making its elimination easier in persistent coughs, in addition to reducing the production of bronchial secretion.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated for children under 12 years old.

Pregnant and lactating women should not use the product, with medical guidance only. Tell your doctor or dental surgeon if pregnancy or breastfeeding occurs during the use of this product.

Patients with a history of hypersensitivity and allergy to any of the formula component.

Note for diabetic patients: this product contains sugar.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus

Popularly known as eucalyptus, Eucalyptus globulus L is a species native to Australia and Tasmania that has adapted very well to virtually all tropical and subtropical regions, being widely distributed in South Africa, India, Southern Europe and Brazil.

Research has found evidence of its antimicrobial action against disease-causing bacteria in the upper respiratory tract, in addition to having antiseptic and fluidizing activity, helping reduce and expel mucus.
